'Finding Carter' Season 2 News, Update: 12 More Episodes Ordered, Sneak Peek for Episode 8 Revealed

Recent TV show reports indicated that MTV has added yet another 12 episodes for the current season of its hit scripted program "Finding Carter."

The announcement came this week via a YouTube video (via TV Line) uploaded by cast member Alex Saxon, who plays the character Max.

"Hey guys I have some amazing news, Finding Carter has been picked up for 12 more episodes and we couldn't have done it without you," the actor said.

More details were provided in a report by The Hollywood Reporter which wrote that the additional episode count style is a common thing to do by the network.

"The cabler followed the same model with comedy 'Faking It,' which doubled its second-year order from 10 to 20 episodes — the same as Awkward did during its early run. The cable-style runs of split seasons has become so common that broadcast networks including ABC are starting to follow a similar trajectory, scheduling short-order midseason fare for the winter hiatus of its top scripted fare," the site said.

Meanwhile, Carter Matt posted in their publication the sneak peek for this week's upcoming episode titled "Riptide."

The video saw the whole Wilson folks discussing their plans for Elizabeth's (Cynthia Watros) birthday that would involve a family dinner which further requires them to be at their "best behavior." The conversation went through smoothly when suddenly the doorbell rang. Carter (Kathryn Prescott) ran ahead to get the door. She opened it and her expression suddenly turned sour.

Carter appears to be unhappy to see the visitor, a young girl whom she probably have known already.

"This may be one of the most awkward new character introductions that we have seen so far," according to the publication.

"Finding Carter" Season 2 airs Tuesdays, at 10 p.m. on MTV.
