'Finding Carter' Season 3 Renewal News: Series Executive Reacts to Renewal Petition

Fans of MTV's hit American teen drama TV series "Finding Carter" were saddened to hear the news earlier this year about the show's cancellation. It had only ran for two seasons but the gripping plot surrounding Kathryn Prescott's character Carter, has captured the attention of the multitude. Now, it looks like there might be some hope for the series to return to the airwaves.

In fact, in the past few months, the petition for a "Finding Carter" season renewal has already been gaining steam that it finally reached into the ears of its series creator.

Earlier this week, Emily Silver, took to her social media to offer her support on the petition. The movement, which readers can access through this link, has already garnered close to 10,000 signatures. In her Twitter post, Silver expressed her gratitude for the love that fans gave on the show.

There's no explanation yet as to why MTV has decided to put a stop on the show. A lot of followers believe that there were still plenty of storylines that need to be touched or offered some closure. Case in point is Max Wagner's (Alex Saxon) imprisonment following the death of Jared (Jacksn Rathbone).

In an interview, Saxon told TV Insider that the prison arc will lend viewers a much closer perspective on why Max has this kind of attitude towards the people around him.

"I think there's a lot to be explored about what would happen if Max went to jail and went where his dad has spent much of Max's life; how he would regress and how he would change," the actor said. "I'd like to think part of why Max is so empathetic to everybody around him and conscious of taking care of people and not hurting anybody is because he knows the evil, the darkness, that's out there."

MTV is yet to announce their decision on whether or not they will bring back the show on air. Stay tuned for more updates.
