'Food Wars! The Third Plate' Anime Spoilers: Soma to Come Up With New Mapo Tofu Recipe for On-Going Moon Festival

Soma continues to struggle at the 92nd Moon Festival on the Japanese anime series, "Food Wars! The Third Plate." Can his upcoming Yukihira-style mapo tofu finally bring him up to par with Kuga's Sichuan Cuisine?

The Moon Festival has begun, but Soma has yet to prove that his worth after challenging Kuga, one of Totsuki's Elite 10. Moreover, if his booth continues to lose profit in the remaining days of the festival, he may possibly get kicked out of the Academy.

However, Soma and Megumi's rolling stall may not have been able to match up with the more elaborately built Kuga Restaurant, but they're slowly but surely attracting a growing number of customers by offering free samples to passersby at night.

This little nightly excursion also serves as a way for Soma to find out what his potential customers need and want and has thus led him to come up with a second dish designed for people who preferred something light to eat after already having a heavy meal.

But even Soma himself knows that his black pepper buns and sorta-Danzi noodles will not be enough to get them through the rest of the week without losing even more to Kuga's immensely popular Sichuan Cuisine.

This is the reason why he is once again experimenting with giving a new twist to an old dish in the last ditch attempt to attract customers to his rolling stall and away from the Kuga Restaurant.

Will Soma's new version of the Yukihira's signature mapo tofu finally get the ball rolling towards a more favorable direction for Soma and Megumi?

Also, what did the two schoolgirls who came by the Yukihira Diner in the dead of night see in the after-credit scene?

"Food Wars! The Third Plate" airs on Tuesdays late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX and on Wednesdays at midnight JST on BS11. It will also be shown on Animax starting on Friday, Oct. 20, and it is currently being simulcast Crunchyroll in selected regions outside Japan.
