Former Baylor Basketball Player Pleas Guilty, Sentenced to 35 Years in Prison
A former Baylor University (BU) basketball player was sentenced to 35 years in prison on June 15 for murdering his teammate.
Carlton Dotson, 22, who surprised prosecutors and his family last week with an open plea to his murder, brought an end to the two-year mystery surrounding the death of Patrick Dennehy.
The Associated Baptist Press (ABP) reported that the sentencing was made, despite Dotsons attorney's insistence that he was mentally ill at the time of the murder.
Dotson, who spent two months in a mental hospital on a judge's order, reportedly told investigators that he was Jesus, "the son of God."
The motive behind the killing is yet to be uncovered.
