Former 'Walking Dead' Producer Frank Darabont Suing AMC for 'Tens of Millions of Dollars' in Unpaid Profits

Former show runner and series creator of "The Walking Dead," Frank Darabont, is suing the hit TV show's network over profits.

Darabont filed suit against AMC yesterday in the New York Supreme Court for breach of contract in unpaid fees, and claims he is owed "tens of millions of dollars," according to IGN.

The former series producer was replaced by AMC in 2011 for no given reason, but Darabont argues it is so AMC did not have to pay him his obligated contractual percentage of the profit.

Aside from the suit speaking about the whole process of getting the show green-lit, IGN reports that it speaks about Darabont getting into a dispute about a very weak budget for a popular show. By decreasing the budget, the show would have to use all of the expenses, which would lower his share in the money because techinically they would not be making anything.

Darabont claims he was never given a reason as to why he was fired and was let go just two days after promoting season two at Comic Con, which was also airing that week.

"AMC's conduct toward Frank to date has been nothing short of atrocious. Unfortunately, the fans of The Walking Dead have suffered as well by being deprived of his creative talent," said Darabont's lawyer, Dale Kinsella, to THR.

Darabont had shared in an interview that some of the members of the cast proposed they have a walk out in support of him, and also in protest of their increased hours because of a shorter budget. He persuaded them to stay put and not do anything that would get them in "legal" trouble.

Currently Darabont is working on TNT TV series "Mob City," which stars former cast member of "The Walking Dead" Jon Bernthal, who played Shane.
