Frank Ocean Leaving for 2 Years After Grammys?

Frank Ocean, 25-year-old singer-songwriter, recently announced that he would take 2-year hiatus after the upcoming Grammy Award show.

Ocean has shared glimpses of his own thoughts through his Tumblr account with fans, but a recent New York Times piece about the singer spoke about his plans for taking flight after the Grammy Awards where he is a nominee. According to the publication, Ocean will fly to China after the award show with his music equipment and will take time to write "in remote locations for the next two years."

Ocean is not only focused on writing music, but he is also penning a book, according to reports.

"I've started writing the book," he told The New York Times. "You can say that. It's fiction, and it's about brothers. That's all I'm going to say."

Ocean has showcased his writing by sharing snippets of his inner most thoughts with fans on his Tumblr account. In one of his first Tumblr postings, the singer opened up about being afraid to sing in church.

The singer's grandmother was a Pentecostal evangelical, while his mother and siblings followed suit. However, Ocean used Tumblr to tell fans about his anxiety concerning honing his craft in a house of worship.

"I never sang or played in church," Ocean wrote in one of his first Tumblr posts. "I remember being kind of intimidated by the idea of it actually. Church was the 'hood Juilliard to me. All the coldest musicians came out of there."

In one of his most recent Tumblr posts, the singer-songwriter gave fans a glimpse of his inner turmoil after deciding against pressing charges following a physical altercation with fellow singer Chris Brown.

"As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man," Ocean wrote on his Tumblr page. "But as a man I am not a killer. I'm an artist and a modern person. I'll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit."

Ocean is nominated for six awards at the 55th annual Grammys that will take place Sunday.
