Franklin Graham: Harambe the Gorilla Outrage Could Be Better Used for Aborted Human Babies
As thousands mourn the death of Harambe the silverback gorilla that was killed to save a young boy's life, the Rev. Franklin Graham used the incident to point out how people get upset and emotional about an animal being killed but don't have the same reaction about the 125,000 babies aborted each day.
In Facebook post on Wednesday, Graham shared The Blaze's article about the incident titled, "While You Were Crying Over a Dead Ape, 125,000 Babies Were Just Murdered." Graham highlighted the double standard of those who are more concerned with the life of an animal than the lives of humans, who God created in His own image and likeness.
Harambe the gorilla was fatally shot on May 28 at the Cincinnati Zoo after a 4-year-old boy managed to get into the gorilla enclosure. The zoo keepers decided to put him down because the 17-year-old, 400lb gorilla confronted the boy and began "violently dragging and throwing the child," according to a statement from Cincinnati Fire Department Chief Marc Monahan.

"Everyone has heard about Harambe, the silverback gorilla that had to be killed to prevent the injury or death of a young boy who had climbed into his zoo enclosure. There's even a Facebook page called 'JusticeforHarambe.' Someone commented on the page that 'Shooting an endangered animal is worse than murder.' People are grieving and leaving flowers at a gorilla statue. Excuse me? Human life should be more highly valued, and a decision had to be made to protect a child's life. Think about it — last week on the day when Harambe was killed, the article below points out that there were some 125,000 abortions performed around the world. Where's the justice for these lives? God created men and women in His image, and He made humans to rule over the animals. I'm thankful that zoo officials made the right decision—to protect human life! I wish the Supreme Court and our politicians would understand the value of human life and realize that one day they will stand and be accountable before the Supreme Judge, Almighty God. #JusticeforHarambe"
The Blaze opinion article highlights the hypocrisy of those who cry that they will miss a zoo animal they did not know existed until the day of his death, with people not being affected by the 125,000 abortions performed every day.
"On a daily basis, a group of people larger than the population of Provo, Utah are systematically exterminated. None of them are given a name, and there will be no candlelight vigils for any of these victims. While the ape was killed quickly and humanely, these children will not be given the same consideration. Depending on the trimester, the executions will be carried out in a variety of different ways. A common method, probably utilized hundreds of times each day, is called a Dilation and Evacuation (D&E). In this procedure, the abortionist pries open the mother's cervix with a metal instrument, inserts a suction tube to extract the amniotic fluid, and then uses a pair of sharpened forceps to methodically tear the baby apart limb by limb," the publication wrote.
Graham has long been a vocal pro-lifer and used the shooting of Harambe the gorilla to call on the U.S. government and Supreme Court to protect human life against abortions.
