'Friends' Reunion Rumors Shut Down: 'It's Not Happening,' Says Show Creator
"Friends" fans have clamored over a possible cast reunion for years, but after a recent surge of rumors, NBC has ended the speculation this week.
The legendary sitcom ran on the network for 10 seasons until 2004, and in addition to speculation over a reunion, rumor also had it that a new season might even be in the works.
However, "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman curbed the hearsay on Wednesday.

"I'm going to clear this up- it's not happening," Kauffman candidly declared on the red carpet for the Lifetime movie premiere of "Call Me Crazy," according to E! News.
"'Friends' was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore," she added.
Warner Bros. also dismissed rumors of a reunion, saying there was no "Friends" related projects planned, according to Zap2it.com.
Furthermore, "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston herself added her take on the reunion rumors.
"You're hearing it here first, as am I," said the actress while on the "Ellen" show last week.
"Did Matthew Perry start that," Aniston asked, referring to her "Friends" co-star. "Because he's getting some good air time on this show."
"Friends" starred Aniston, Perry, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc, and David Schwimmer.
Meanwhile, rumors were rampant of a reunion, and a photoshopped version of a "Friends" poster even made its debut online over the past week.
Legions of fans of the sitcom have vented their disappointment on Twitter after learning rumors of a "Friends" reunion were false on Thursday.
"Noooooooooo! I really wanted it to be true," posted Christine.
Stephanie wrote, "All this teasing about a 'Friends' reunion is heartbreaking."
"People who think that a 'Friends' reunion season is actually happening," started Carina. "C'mere, sit down with me, let me explain how the world works."
"So apparently the FRIENDS reunion was all just a rumor and isn't going to happen… #depressed #dayruined," wrote Anna.
