Frosty the Snowman Arrested at Maryland Parade for Kicking Police Dog

Frosty the Snowman has been arrested Saturday. A man in the “Frosty” costume was arrested by police on Saturday during the annual Christmas Maryland parade in Chestertown, on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Reports have suggested that “Frosty” was arrested after a scuffle with police, and the supposedly jolly snowman was even accused of kicking a police dog.

According to The Star Democrat of Easton, Sgt. John A. Dolgos has said that 52-year-old Kevin Michael Walsh, dressed as “Frosty the Snowman,” became agitated when a dog-handling officer tried to escort him away from the crowd.

Walsh has been dressing as “Frosty the Snowman” for the Maryland Parade for at least 10 years, according to The Associated Press.

“Frosty” has maintained that he is innocent, and claims that he was wrongfully arrested.

He told AP that a police officer was not happy with him after he made a remark about the police dogs being present. He insisted that he only became agitated after they arrested him for his harmless comments.

“Frosty” has since been released, and is expected to attend the Maryland Parade again in 2012.
