'Frozen 2': A Broadway Show Not a Movie Sequel, But Still A Priority
Disney's "Frozen" is undeniably one of the biggest animations of this generation and it probably will remain so. With that immense amount of success, it wouldn't be a wonder if fans will be asking for more stories from Arendelle. The question now is, when and will "Frozen 2" ever happen?
Showrunner Peter Del Vecho shed some light into the speculations, revealing that it is too early to do a follow up. What Disney has set their eyes upon on actually is a Broadway production.
"Certainly you can't go on the internet without that question coming up. Right now, it's too early for us to talk anything about that," the Oscar-winning filmmaker told TV Guide.
It was further disclosed that some members of the "Frozen" movie will be participating in the theatrical adaptation including Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck.
"What we have talked about is a Broadway show, which is under development. There's no specific timeline for that. Jen [Lee] will be involved in that, Chris [Buck] will be involved," Del Vecho said.
"It'll get produced from our theatrical unit. That's the next logical step for the project," the producer added.
When further asked about "Frozen" being on the season 4 of ABC's "Once Upon A Time," Del Velcho's concerns lies on how the characters will transcend from the feel good movie to the serious tone of the TV show.
"We just want them to remain who they are, so they all have developed personalities, and we don't want them to create situations that we feel they wouldn't get into," he explained.
