'Furious 7' News: Official Trailer Released, Cast Members Talk About the Film and Paul Walker

The cast of "Furious 7" got together on Saturday to launch the official trailer of the film.

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, and Tyrese Gibson were at the Universal Studios in Hollywood to debut the trailer in a special event organized by the production team of the film. The event was streamed live to the "Fast and Furious" official Facebook page and E! Online.

The trailer sees the crew inside several cars, and they all step on the gas and drive out of an airplane. Parachutes deploy out of the cars as they land on a mountainside road. The late Paul Walker is also seen doing incredible stunts—climbing out of a bus which is seen dangling off a cliff, and as the bus is about to fall he makes a great leap and grabs onto Letty's (Rodriguez) car. Kurt Russell also makes an appearance in the trailer, and tells Dominic (Diesel) "Like it or not, you and your friends are a part of it now." Dominic replies, "I don't have friends. I have family."

Indeed, the "Furious 7" cast has grown very close over the span of 13 years of filming the franchise, and the trailer launch proved how they have bonded over happy moments and sad ones through the years. The cast talked about Walker, and some of them were very emotional and seemed to be on the brink of tears as they spoke about the late actor. Walker died in a car accident on Nov. 30, 2013 at the age of 40.

Most of the cast members on stage said that their main objective was to make "Furious 7" the best movie of the franchise because that was what the late actor would have wanted. Rodriguez and Diesel in particular were seen trying to keep it together as they struggled not to cry. Before the trailer was shown, Rodriguez said, "This one's for Paul."

Though the franchise has a loyal fan base, many are wondering whether there will be another "Fast and Furious" film as some have voiced out that making another movie won't be the same without Walker in it. Earlier reports say that the filmmakers have thought of an exit strategy for Walker's character for the franchise to continue even without him.

"Furious 7" is set for release on April 4, 2015.
