"Of course. It can't go on without Hobbs," he said.

The conversation went on probe earlier reports pointing out to a Hobbs-centered spinoff film, which was originally planned to be released between the sixth and the seventh sequel of the franchise, according to Collider.

"We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see. It remains to be seen as to where the DSS Federal Agent character could go in the offshoot film. Although, Collider was quick to speculate that there's a huge possibility for it to grow into a "major guns-and-explosions franchise" under his name.

As for Furious 8, franchise mainstay Vin Diesel previously revealed at CinemaCon that the film will hit the theaters on April 14, 2017.
