Gabby Douglas may be an Olympic gold medalist, but now the 16-year-old gymnast may be adding actress to her resume amid reports that she appeared on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" recently.

News that Douglas, an admitted fan of the CW network television show about vampires, would appear on the show was sparked by Nina Dobrev who stars on the show.

"@gabrielledoug is coming to The Vampire Diaries set tomorrow," Dobrev tweeted recently. "Can't wait to meet and work with you girl! Don't forget to bring your bling!"

Dobrev continued to tease her 2.75 million Twitter followers about the cameo that the Olympic gold medalist would make on the show.

"First thought at 5:30 a.m. when I woke up this morning : 'What to wear when meeting an Olympian Gold Medallist (sic)?'" Dobrev tweeted this week.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Douglas would appear on the show as a character other than herself. The publication reported that the episode will air on Nov. 29 which will be the seventh episode of the fourth season.

While this will be Douglas' first time on the show, the cast of "Vampire Diaries" put together a video for the gymnast after she brought home two gold medals for Team USA in the London 2012 Olympics.

"Hi Gabby. We heard you are a big fan of The Vampire Diaries. All of us here are big fans of you too," the video message from the lead actors on "The Vampire Diaries" stated. "We'd like to congratulate you and the U.S. women's team on your gold medal and you for winning gold in the women's all around competition. That is so cool."

Douglas seemed to enjoy her experience on the set of the hit CW television series and made that evident after the official Vampire Diaries Twitter page wrote "Hope you had fun on set."

"OMG! Yes I had a blast meeting everyone," Douglas responded on Twitter. "Thank you SO much for having me!"
