Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Where in the World is the Galaxy Nexus?

Much speculation has surrounded the release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Since its Oct. 19 unveiling, several release dates for Galaxy Nexus have been announced and confirmed worldwide, but as they draw nearer, carriers and suppliers seem to be experiencing delays that have left the release date of the smartphone uncertain.

The United Kingdom had the earliest release date for the Galaxy Nexus on Nov. 17.

Some consumers already received their smartphones through special prerelease programs; however, recent reports indicate that U.K. customers may not receive pre-ordered phones for several days after the proposed release date.

Amazon U.K. has the Galaxy Nexus listed on its website with Dec. 2 as an approximated release date. U.K. carrier Three recently began accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Nexus, but announced on its Twitter that due to stock delays, the delivery date for pre-orders handsets was changed to Nov. 22.

U.K. supplier Clove announced on its blog that Galaxy Nexus pre-orders will ship Nov. 23. The Order listed a Dec. 1 shipping date. Supplier MobileFun listed on its website a Nov. 21 release date.

Canadian carriers Bell and Virgin have confirmed that they will release the Galaxy Nexus in early December while TELUS and Rogers expect the phone in January 2012; however, no specific date has been revealed for any carrier.

At its unveiling in October, Samsung and Google announced that the Galaxy Nexus would be available in Japan in November. No further release plans have been announced, but recent reports indicate that the Federal Communications Commission approved the Japanese model of the smartphone.

German supplier Cyberport listed that the Galaxy Nexus will be available on Nov. 24.

Verizon Wireless, the exclusive United States launch carrier for the Galaxy Nexus, previously announced that the smartphone would release "later this year.” A specific date has also not been revealed.

Industry insiders suspect the phone could release on Nov. 21, according to a leak of Verizon's advertisement "Roadmap" that details the phone’s advertisement beginning after Black Friday weekend.
