Galaxy Note 3 Price Drop Coming Soon?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to be receiving a significant price cut in its home country of South Korea.

A new report from ZDNet Korea says that the company is looking to reduce the price of the flagship handset from 1,067,000 won to 950,000 won or from $1049 to $933. Various retailers have already slashed their price on the phone and Samsung's cut will make the device even cheaper than it is now.

This is probably being done in anticipation for the upcoming Galaxy Note 4, which is expected to debut in the fall of this year.

Rumored specs for the Note 4 include an Exynos 5433 CPU for the European model.

Sam Mobile reports that a model with a Snapdragon 805 will be released in North America, Korea, China and Japan. The rest of the world will receive the Exynos powered model that comes paired with an Intel Cat 6 LTE chip. Both versions will also have QHD displays with a UV sensor and a next-gen 16-megapixel camera.

Samsung plans to add a few new features to the software for the Galaxy Note 4 including Swipe to Launch Motion Launcher and Smart Fingerprint.

A previous SamMobile report claimed that Samsung is currently testing out a few new software features that utilize the Galaxy S5 hardware and plans to debut them on the Note 4. Swipe to Launch and Smart Fingerprint are just a few of the features that will come on the new software.

The Swipe to Launch Motion Launcher will be similar to the HTC One M8's motion launcher feature which means it could be used to swipe gestures on the screen to wake the display, launch the camera and more. Smart Fingerprint could allow users to customize actions when a finger print is scanned.
