Galaxy S5 Rumors: 2 Different Models Appear in Benchmarks

Two different models of what is rumored to be the Galaxy S5 appeared in AnTuTu benchmarks last week.

One of the variants goes by the codename SM-G900H, with the other going by SM-G900R4. They feature slightly different specifications, with the latter model coming with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with clock speed of 2.5GHz, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, qHD display, a 16-megapixel sensor a 2.1-megapixel front shooter and Android 4.4.2, KitKat.

The SM-G900H is said to be the more standard variant that will come with an Octa-core Samsung Exynos 5422 SoC with a clock speed of 1.5GHz, ARM Mali-T628 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Full HD display, 16-megapixel main camera, a 2.1 megapixel front camera and Android 4.4.2 on board.

The Galaxy S5 is rumored to be unveiled at Samsung's "Unpacked" event set to take place on Feb. 24. The New York Times is reporting that the S5 will launch there and that it will be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Gear 2 smart watch. The event will be a bit less flashy than the Galaxy S4's unveiling, according to those familiar with the matter.

The Times also confirmed that the device would feature a 16-megapixel camera and would not have the rumored iris scanner on board. This report is in line with a previous one that quoted words from Samsung's VP who said the S5 will be a "back to basics" device.

The first picture taken with this camera might have been leaked last week. @evleaks posted up a photo of what could be the first sample image taken with the Galaxy S5. It doesn't reveal anything about the S5's camera quality, but it does confirm that the device will feature a 16-megapixel sensor, which jives with many recent reports.
