'Gambit' Movie News, Update: Film to Commence Production in October With Hefty Multi-Million Budget

It appears that 20th Century Fox won't be keeping its budget to a bare minimum to produce one of its upcoming solo superhero films, "Gambit."

The forthcoming Channing Tatum-led movie will cost around $150 million to make, according to ComicBook.com. The details were posted over at the Louisiana Economic Development's "Fast Lane" website – a site that keeps track on movie projects done in the state.

According to the report, the cost to make the full-length feature of the ragin' Cajun will sing to the tune of $154,975,309. Over $111 million or almost 80 percent of the whole budget will go to Louisiana. The funds remaining will pay for the services rendered by local employees.

"Gambit" will commence production this October in time for its Oct. 7, 2016 outing date, as confirmed by Showbiz 411.

The media outlet also dropped some casting call details revealing a majority of characters that are criminals. As speculated by Collider, it appears that the 2016 film is "gearing up for an origin story."

For the uninitiated, Gambit is affiliated to the Thief's Guild which turns out to be at war with the Assassin's Guild. The publication weighs on the idea that if the movie will "break down into that specific conflict" then there's a huge possibility that fans will get to see a "fair share of mobsters and thieves."

The fan-favorite character debuts in the X-Men movie series on 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and was portrayed by Taylor Kitsch.

"Gambit" hits the theaters Oct. 7, 2016.
