'Game of Thrones' Casting News, Rumors: Season 6 Cast Leak Reveals New Characters

HBO's hit fantasy TV drama series "Game of Thrones" is already halfway through its exciting current fifth season and preparations for the next chapter are now reported to be on their way.

Watchers on the Wall, a fan website of both the TV adaptation and George R.R. Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" novel series, reported that casting season has begun. The site claims to have acquired some information regarding the casting breakdowns. Following the leak of the past role descriptions, the show's production staff opted to cover up the names of the characters.

Among the roles mentioned on the website includes a "pirate" – "man in his 40's to late 50's. He's "an infamous pirate who has terrorized seas all around the world. Cunning, ruthless, with a touch of madness.'"

This could be Theon's uncle Euron Greyjoy.

The leak also mentioned a "father" – "aged 50's to 60's, he's one of the greatest soldiers in Westeros -- a humorless martinet, severe and intimidating. He demands martial discipline in the field and in his home. It's described as 'a very good part' for next year and that he's 'centrally involved' in a protagonist's storyline."

WOTW said that this could really be Randyll Tarly, Sam's "abusive father" and the soldier mentioned by Stannis Baratheon from previous episodes.

In line with the mystery character is a "mother," a "sister," and a "brother," which bookreaders may not find in the canon.

A few more roles were further revealed:

  • Priest
  • Leading actress
  • Priestess
  • Fierce warrior
  • A large boy
  • 12 year old boy
  • 7 year old boy

For the meantime, "Game of Thrones" Season 5 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
