'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Recap: When Will Cersei's Walk of Shame Happen?

The last episode of the hit fantasy TV drama series "Game of Thrones" Season 5 titled "The Gift" saw some interesting plot twists which hinted the coming of a highly anticipated scene.

Major spoilers ahead: Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) appeared to have got what she really wanted – to deliberately crush the Tyrell family and sever their hold in King's Landing.

Meanwhile, the Tyrell Matriarch, Olenna (Diana Rigg) didn't give up on freeing her grandchildren Margaery (Natalie Dormer) and Loras (Finn Jones). The Queen of Thorns even meet up with the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) to try to put some sense on him. She even threatens the bearer of the faith of the seven that she'll cut off the food supply to the capital.

The elder Sparrow, unfazed, replied to the woman that soon the many will stop fearing the few.

For those who followed the books closely, the Queen Mother did get arrested for multiple crimes by the Faith Militants.

In the HBO adaptation, the events were rather interesting to witness. Cersei decided to visit Margaery in the dungeon where she's being held. Adding insult to injury, Cersei seemed to gloat with how things have worked out.

She later went to meet the righteous and unbiased Sparrow High Priest who gave her some lecturing about humility and simplicity. He then spoke about the prospect of stripping away the fineries of both the Tyrells and Lannisters. The words sent a chill to her spine.

The man added that there's a man who had so much to tell about her. Lancel (Eugene Simon) entered the vicinity. Just as she turns to leave, a Silent Sister grabs hold of Cersei.

Fans were quick to speculate that Olenna could have some parts to play in Cersei's arrest. A report from TV Guide said that although her family's cause are already failing, she still "has an ally or two in her debt, and she's about to call in favors."

It's also possible that Cersei's cousin has confessed to the organization about their incestuous relationship or that someone with even more power has come in to play.

It remains to be found out as to how these events will lead to Cersei's impending Walk of Shame.

"Game of Thrones" Season 5 airs Sundays on HBO.
