'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 News: New Promo Images From HBO

Premium cable network HBO released this week a barrage of promo images for the sixth season of its highly anticipated drama TV series "Game of Thrones."

Shared over at Entertainment Weekly, the photos offer glimpses of the fates of the fan-favorite characters after what transpired in Season 5. Also featured are the faces of newcomers, as well as the old-timers whose returns will surely make the latest installment even more exciting and intense.

To mention a few, there's an image of Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) arriving at the docks of the Red Keep wearing a heavy face. Brought with him are the remains of Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger Free) who was killed in the last season. Another picture showed him standing over the body with the reigning king and brother of the deceased, King Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman).

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Ser Varys (Conleth Hill) can also be seen pondering over something. It is expected that fans will find them managing Essos where its queen, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), is still missing.

Speaking of the character, the last of her line is currently being held captive by the Dothrakis. The freer of slaves was last seen flown by her most vicious dragon, Drogon, to a place far from the capital.

In the books, it is said that the company who surrounded her in the episode "Mother's Mercy" belongs to a group led by Khal Jhaqo, a former lieutenant of her late husband. It is interesting to see how this meeting will end up for both parties.

Meanwhile, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) is still in a quite difficult situation with her eyesight already taken from her. How will Arya be able to continue her training as a lethal assassin with her current condition?

The Greyjoys, Balon (Patrick Malahide) and Yara (Gemma Whelan) were also found among the heap of images. Then there's Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who is now all grown up, with the Three-Eyed Raven (now played by Max von Sydow).

Find out how these events unfold when "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres Sunday, April 24 on HBO.
