To mark the end of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, Microsoft has released a special edition of the Xbox One with a design inspired by the popular HBO series.

The unique Xbox One was painted with metallic scrolls with rings on top, and then giving it a copper finish for a premium and rustic look just like the items on "Game of Thrones."

Exclusive Release in France

"Game of Thrones" fans should not expect the Special Edition Xbox One to be available for sale since it was exclusively released in France. One can get this special console for free with the Blu-ray video set of the TV series if they participate in contests of Xbox France via its social media pages.

How Many Units were Made?

Microsoft only made six of these specially designed consoles and will be limited for now as it is still considered a render by the company.

How to Win a 'Game of Thrones' Xbox One Special Edition?

In a tweet, Xbox France explained how people can qualify for the contest and win the "Game of Thrones" console.

"RT & tweet #XboxLovesGoT to win the #XboxOne collector #GameOfThrones & the integral box," the tweet read in English.

People are expected to use the keyword "XboxLovesGoT" for them to be able to qualify and win the customized Xbox One and a complete Blu-ray set of the Game of Thrones series from Seasons 1 to 5.

However, the regional limitations of the contest are not clear since anybody who has a Twitter account can follow the simple instructions for the contest.

Why Did Microsoft Come Up with This Idea?

This move from Microsoft is an effort to make the Xbox One remain interesting and relevant. This also came after the company announced the coming of the Xbox One S, which will also be replaced by a better and newer console tagged as Project Scorpio next year.
