Marcus Fenix Comes Back with Son JD in Campaign Gameplay Trailer
Marcus Fenix is back although visibly older together with his JD in the trailer for "Gears of War 4."
There are only a couple of months left before the official release of "Gears of War 4" and to fan the hype, a new trailer has been released. It revealed a much older Marcus Fenix with his son J.D. battling invading enemies in their village. While Marcus is "back," JD is the star of the game.

"Gears of War 4" is set 25 years after the third game where Marcus successfully defeated the war against the Locust. The game play trailer shows JD, Del, Kat and Marcus who are pursuing creatures called the Swarm.
They have to find Kait's mom, Reyna, who has been abducted by the said creatures. Furthermore, a storm is coming and the players will need to battle out the Swarm and survive, Eurogamer noted.
"Gears of War 4" developer Chuck Osieja said that the upcoming game is a "continuation of a legacy" with JD Fenix as the new hero of the story. Marcus is there to provide perspectives on who JD is and why he is continuing the fight, Entertainment Weekly noted.
"Gears of War 4" Multiplayer Map Details
Marcus Fenix, who will still be voiced by John DiMaggion, will be playable in the new multiplayer map for "Gears of War 4." The 4-multiplayer map is called Forge and the area has wide open spaces where players can play matches two against two, Game Spot reported. Furthermore, there will also be a wave-based Horde mode that can be won by surviving through the swarms of creatures.

"Gears of War 4" is playable via Xbox One and PC will officially launch on October 11 later this year. Players can play cross-platform multiplayer in both gaming systems for all coop gaming modes. This is the first title in the franchise that supports cross-platform gaming, Polygon noted.
