Florida's Seminole County Police are reporting that George Zimmerman was arrested Monday afternoon in Apopka, Florida after deputies responded to an alleged domestic dispute call at the home of his girlfriend, Samantha Schiebe.

Authorities told local media outlets that Zimmerman's girlfriend called 911 at 12:30 E.T., claiming that he broke a table and aimed a long-barreled shotgun at her during a verbal dispute. When the police arrived at the girlfriend's home in Topfield Court, Apopka, Zimmerman had allegedly barricaded himself inside the home while pushing the girlfriend outside, WFTV-9 reports.

Once police officials arrived however, Zimmerman reportedly showed no aggression and removed the barricade from the door to talk with authorities. Dennis Lemma, chief deputy with the Seminole County, Florida, Sheriff's Office, said in a press conference Monday that Zimmerman was charged with a felony aggravated assault for his handling of a shotgun, as well as domestic violence battery and criminal mischief.

Neighbor Catherine Cantrell told local WFTV-9 news that she would describe Schiebe as sweet and quiet, and that when she first saw Zimmerman at the home she thought he was an undercover cop. "First time I saw her get out of the car with him, I thought she was dating a cop. I thought he was actually a cop, like an undercover cop. Very quiet, walked in and out," she told the local news station.

Zimmerman is reportedly being held without bail and will appear before a judge on Tuesday. According to the Sherriff's office, if Zimmerman is granted a bond, the authorities may request he be put on electronic monitoring, something that is reportedly requested in all domestic violence incidences.

Zimmerman is most famously known for being acquitted of the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager who was shot by Zimmerman while walking through a gated community in Sanford, Florida in February 2012. Since his acquittal, Zimmerman has popped up in the news a few times. He was cited for a speeding violation twice, and police were also called to an allege domestic dispute between Zimmerman and his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman in September, although no charges resulted from that police visit.
