Georgetown Hoyas vs Florida Gulf Coast Eagles takes place on Friday night in the NCAA 2013 tournament. This match up will commence the evening run of games for Friday in the March Madness second round, with the Hoyas looking to live up to expectations and book their place in the third round. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6.50 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (Details below).
Georgetown are No. 2 seeds, and enter this game having posted a season record of 25-6. Some have touted this side to be the best that Coach John Thompson III has ever produced, and there are high expectations that this team could make a run deep into the tournament this year.
Coach John Thompson III has ample experience to lend his side, having taken his team to the Final Four in 2007. He has created a tight unit that does not give up any points easily. They are one of the best teams in the country defensively, only allowing an average of 56 points per game - good enough to rank them 6th in the nation this year.
The Eagles are entering the NCAA for the first time, and that is quite an achievement seeing as this is only their sixth season in Division 1 athletics. Coach Andy Enfield is said to have created a team specifically directed towards making an impact in March of this year.
Even though Georgetown are the No. 2 seeded favorites in this tie, the No. 15 seeded Florida Gulf Coast could cause an upset. They have already beaten Miami (FL) on their home court, and Miami, as many will know, are No. 2 seeds in the tournament too.
