Apparently, Scarlett Johansson is a go-to woman when it comes to action movie roles. Fresh from her success as the titular character in the film "Lucy" and in her red-head fighting role as Agent Romanov in a number of Marvel flicks like "Avengers" and "Captain America 2," the 30-year-old newlywed actress is now set to suit up for an upcoming film "Ghost in the Shell."

A report from Deadline.com indicated that "The Prestige" star will appear in DreamWorks live action adaptation of the popular anime from Japan.

Based off from a seinen manga series of the same name written by Masamune Shirow, "Ghost in the Shell" is considered one of the most significant cyberpunk classics. The anime was praised for its integration of relatively advanced animation techniques.

The story basically tells about a future where people have "cyberbrains." These cyberbrains allow them to plug into computer networks.

Forbes.com speculated that the critically-acclaimed actress will take on the lead role of Motoko Kusanagi. The character, as stated in the fiction's canon, is a cyborg operative that is working at a futuristic cyber security division called Section 9.

"The rumor is she's also being offered $10 million to play the role," Forbes wrote.

According to Variety.com, director Rupert Sanders is reportedly to be on board to helm the project. Working alongside behind the camera are Avi Arad and Steven Paul.
