'Ghostbusters' Movie Release Date, Cast Rumors: All-Female Reboot Film Names Cast Members
The popular comedy franchise "Ghostbusters" has now found its new protagonists in these four women.
A report from Hollywood Reporter indicated that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are now in negotiations to appear in the upcoming reboot of the film which will be helmed by "Bridesmaid" director Paul Feig.
Except for McCarthy who has already signed on for the forthcoming project, THR added that Wiig and the two stars from "Saturday Night Live" are still currently in talks to join on board. However, Feig somehow felt confident that the girls would certainly ink the deals that he took to his social media to declare the involvement of the four and even went on to say that filming will start this summer in New York.

Jones has been with SNL since the early of 2014 and is currently onscreen with Chris Rock on "Top Five." McKinnon, on the other hand appeared earlier and has received an Emmy nomination for her work.
As for the film, previous reports indicated Feig clarifying that the title would be a reboot and not a sequel, like it was suspected.
"I love the first one so much, I don't want to do anything to ruin the memory of that," Feig told Rolling Stone. "So it just felt like, let's just restart it because then we can have new dynamics. I want the technology to be even cooler. I want it to be really scary, and I want it to happen in our world today that hasn't gone through it so it's like, oh my God what's going on?"
The Feig-helmed Ghostbuster reboot is slated to open in theaters this July 22, 2016.
