'Ghostbusters' Reboot Cast News, Update: Paul Feig Project Casts Chris Hemsworth as Receptionist

Paul Feig, the "Bridesmaid" director who is now helming the all-female reboot project of "Ghostbusters," recently revealed a big casting shocker update.

The report from Entertainment Weekly said that "Thor" superhero actor Chris Hemsworth is now cast to play a role in the upcoming supernatural comedy film revival.

"Our receptionist. #whoyougonnacall," Feig's Twitter post was captioned while showing Hemsworth.

The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" actor is set to replace Annie Potts' character, Janine Melnitz, in the new gender-swapped movie.

There's been no official word released yet from the actor's rep, however. E! Online reported that this could be "wishful tweeting on Feig's part."

Regardless of its authenticity, the new film will see actresses Kristen Wiig, Melisssa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in their yet-to-be-announced roles.

"Those four ladies I have starring in it are so funny and that's half the battle," Feig told Entertainment Weekly. "I'm going to battle with the best army I have. My whole crew from all my other movies have come aboard, and some great special effects people have come aboard — I have never really done this level of effects before — and I'm excited!"

Hemsworth, meanwhile, is set to appear in the upcoming biographical disaster film thriller "In the Heart of the Sea."

Feig's "Ghostbuster" reboot, on the other hand, is slated to hit the theaters on July 22, 2016.
