'Ghostbusters' reboot news, spoilers, cast: Chris Hemsworth done with fun shooting

The "Ghostbusters" reboot is definitely on its way. Although the filming has still not entirely wrapped up, one of the actors' time with the crew is over, which would be Chris Hemsworth. Hemsworth had only good words as he left the set.

DailyMail recently reported that the 32-year-old actor finished filming his part for the movie last August 22. He took to announce this through social media by posting a picture on his Twitter page, posing with arms around two crew members, all of them wearing "Ghostbusters" 2016 caps, and a thumbs up, with the caption, "Just wrapped @Ghostbusters. Such an amazing cast and director. Had a blast. Never laughed so much in my life."

Hemsworth is set to play Kevin, the dorky receptionist to the ghost battling squad. In the 1984 film, the role was played by Annie Potts as a character named Janine Melnitz. This decision to cast the opposite gender for this role follows the theme of the movie, as the original male main protagonists are now portrayed by women, specifically comediennes Kirsten Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

The actor has definitely proven to have had a good time on set, as just a few weeks before his tweet, he was pictured sporting the same glasses like that of Janine Melnitz, wearing his Ghostbusters costume, while riding a motorcycle around in Boston.

Many fans of the actor are quite excited to see him in this role as it's a step away from his usual macho roles. Hemsworth who got his break in the soap "Home And Away" rose to the peak of his career when he took the iconic role of the Marvel's Thor, starring in his own film franchise, as well as being one of the lead characters of the Avengers.

For those excited to see Hemsworth in an unorthodox comedic role, they can catch the reboot of Ghostbusters when it hits theatres on July 15, 2016.
