'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' Season 2: Jess and Rory to Part Ways
Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) will not be part of Rory's (Alexis Bledel) life in "Gilmore Girls" anymore in the event that a new installment will be ordered for the series.
News of a possible second part of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" surfaced when Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that they have recently been talking to the showrunners, Amy and Dan Palladino. Sarandos said they are aware of the hype that the show has brought, and they are hoping the Palladinos would consider continuing the story of the mother-daughter tandem, Rory and Lorelai (Lauren Graham).
Many fans were disappointed with the revival's ending where Rory told her mom that she was pregnant. It was not revealed who the baby's father was, but speculations point out to Logan (Matt Czuchry) being the culprit. Rory carried on an affair with the Huntzberger boy through the years, even after they broke up. Logan was already engaged to a French heiress, but that did not stop him from sleeping with Rory whenever she was in London.

Rory's last boyfriend, Paul (Jack Carpenter), was hardly ever shown. At the end of the revival, she told Lorelai he broke up with her. Jess, who gave Rory some sound advice, is also out of the running as the baby daddy. Although it was obvious that he still has feelings for her, their paths have already diverged to the point of no return.
In a recent interview with USA Today, Ventimiglia mentioned that if the series will have another installment, he would not be part of the cast.
"There are more stories to tell with a lot of these characters, but at the same time some of these characters for some of us actors are more than a decade in the past. It was exciting going back to Gilmore Girls for the four Netflix movies, but I'm satisfied with it. I think the stories were told. I think it was great for the audience and fans to get just one small taste of that world again. But, at the same time, I think people should not get so greedy," Ventimiglia said in the interview.
