One week after requesting prayers for the New England Patriots, Gisele Bundchen has criticized the team for their performance at the Super Bowl.

Her comments included critiquing the Patriots for their 21-17 loss to the Giants, and referenced many members of the team dropping the ball during Sunday's game.

"Kind of loving how Gisele stuck up for her man," said former reality television star Kristin Cavallari on her Twitter account Monday.

The 24-year-old former "Dancing with the Stars" cast member amended the comment minutes later, writing, "I agree its not cool to throw teammates under the bus … I was simply saying its cute she had her mans back. Not at the teams expense though."

Comedian Andy Borowitz also commented on Bundchen's post-game comments.

"Dear Gisele: it's not a good idea to criticize professional athletes when your field of expertise is standing still," wrote Borowitz. "Next time Gisele poses for Vogue I want the Patriots receivers to show up at the set and boo her."

"For a woman whose only taken is her SUPPOSED good looks Gisele Bundchen is an ugly person proving once again, beauty is only skin deep," wrote Twitter user Bruce.

Bunchen's comments took place as the supermodel was exiting the stadium following the Super Bowl, the supermodel retaliated against a Giants fan who had criticized her husband, Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady.

The fan yelled, "Eli owns your husband," referencing Manning's defeat of Brady by a few points.

Instead of shouting back, Bundchen turned to a friend and was caught on tape saying, "My husband cannot f------ throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time."

The Victoria's Secret model added, "I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."

Bundchen was likely referring to the Patriots' wide receiver Wes Welker who dropped a pass at the 20-yard line with four minutes left in the game, forcing a punt that gave the Giants another chance to score.

Alternately, Brady revealed no blame toward his teammates, and said he and Welker simply "failed to connect" while speaking at the post-game conference.

"Wes is a phenomenal player and a teammate," said Brady. "I love that guy."

Consoling her husband after his loss, Bundchen reportedly told a forlorn Brady, "You played the best game of your life, you were amazing."
