GodTV to Live Broadcast 'TheCall'

A movement to bring about a spiritual revival in America next week will be broadcasted live as thousands of people continue to gather in the nation's capitol over the coming months to take part in what's known as the "TheCall" – the nation's largest annual intercessory prayer meeting.

In a press release, CEO and founder of GodTV, Rory Alec, said he was proud to have his company take part in the ground breaking event by hosting the live broadcast of TheCall's pre-rally set to take place next Friday in Miami.

"This is an extraordinary vision which requires the mass mobilization of the entire Body of Christ from coast to coast and I encourage every believer to tune in to GOD TV for an important LIVE broadcast on Friday July 18 as we pray for TheCall, DC. This will also be a good opportunity to find out how you can participate in this nation-transforming initiative," stated Alec.

The pre-rally will feature live worship and a special message from the movement's founder, Lou Engle.

Engle, who first began TheCall in 2000, said that the movement will be a history making moment. It aims to bring over 1 million people to Washington D.C. this August to pray for the spiritual revival of an America which he described as desperately in need of new hope and guidance from God.

"There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens. It is in these moments that key men and women risk everything to become the hinge of history. That pivotal point determines which way the door will swing. Join us in a massive gathering of united generations desperate for revival and real change in our nation," he said in a statement.

TheCall was first held in Washington, D.C. in 2000, gathering over 400,000 people at the Washington Mall. Tens of thousands more gathered in Call events in other cities and countries, including England and the Philippines, the following years. The massive gathering stopped for about three years when a "prophecy from a friend of Lou's ... said TheCall will die for three years, and in the time of crisis it will arise again," according to Julia Richardson, one of the event's public relations people last year. In January 2007, TheCall was resurrected with a "Re-launch" and followed by several events thereafter.

According to Alec, GodTV will be airing the TheCall's complete 12-hour prayer meeting when it converges on the capitol in August.
