Gold-Plated Lamborghini, Valued at $7.5 Million, Set to Be Auctioned Off Then Made

Car enthusiasts are taking note of a new gold-plated Lamborghini that will be up for auction soon in Dubai.

The gold-plated Lamborghini, which will cost $7.5 million, is molded from a 1,100-pound block of solid gold with 55 pounds of gold in the finished product. The gold and jewels that will decorate the car are valued at $2.64 million.

The car will go to auction, where the starting price is set at $7.5 million, with $650,000 of that being donated to charity. The gold-plated Lamborghini boasts a V12 engine and a mind-blowing 700 brake horsepower.

There is currently a model on display in Dubai with construction on the new sports car yet to get underway in order to incorporate the buyers own specifications.

The vehicle has secured a place for itself three times in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most expensive car ever, having the most secure showcase, and featuring the most luxurious logo. Lamborghini commented on the gold-plated car, saying it "is indeed a very sound investment in precious metals and gemstones," with "enormous potential for this value to increase significantly."

Recently, the Lamborghini Egoista was introduced by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of the company as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.

The new concept car named is aimed at the most self-indulgent millionaires that many envy.

The introduction of the new concept car was just one of the many headlines the event captured, including the moment 350 Lamborghinis drove through Italy to pay tribute to the famed Italian automaker, Auto Car India reported.

The car was designed by Walter De Silva, who drew inspiration for the vehicle from the Apache helicopter. Earlier reports have confirmed the car is made mostly out of carbon fiber and that the cockpit canopy can be removed to create a convertible as well as reduce weight.
