Google Android M for Samsung Features and Details: Quick Finger Print Access, Track Memory, App Permissions and More

Despite its lack of an official name, Google's upcoming mobile operating system iteration, the Android M, is already getting worked on and is in no time be available for consumer smartphone devices.

One of the smartphone brands waiting for the OS update is Samsung which, in the past months, is also working on their TouchWiz technology to facilitate the arrival of the new OS.

A report from GSM Arena shared an infographic showing the new features that users of the South Korean tech should expect once Android M gets inside their devices.

Among the highlighted features are the App Permissions which gives users the ability to choose the functions that they want to allow an app to gain access to.

The Track Memory, on the other hand, gives the user a quick glance on how much memory each app is taking up on the device. The Quick Finger Print Access, meanwhile, offers a much easier way to log in to Google's Play Store. This means users don't need to type their passwords when going to the said platforms. Their fingerprint identity would be more than enough to give them access.

The Power Saving Mode is also an excellent feature of the Android M. When the phone recognizes that it hasn't been used for a long time, it activates a "Doze" mode which "reduces background processes to minimise battery consumption."

The preliminary list of the Samsung devices which are eligible to receive the Android M update are the following:

- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

- Samsung Galaxy Note 4

- Samsung galaxy Note 4 Duos

- Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

- Samsung Galaxy Alpha

- Samsung galaxy Tab A

The website added the list of the units may change as the release date of the new firmware approaches.
