Google Nexus 7 2017, Pixel 2 Specs, Features: VR-Ready Nexus 7, Pixel 2 to Arrive This Year

Google will finally launch the revamped version of its most powerful tablet, the Google Nexus 7. The device will arrive at the end of this year with new specs and features, making it a great choice for tech enthusiasts. On top of that, the tech giant is also set to launch alongside the Google Pixel 2 in the smartphone category.

Despite the popularity of the tablet industry having significantly gone down in the last few years, Google has managed to come off with a new device that will make a relevant and practical choice for tablet users. The overhauled Google Nexus 7 will feature better performance as it sports the Android 7.1.1 Nougat. This is faster than the operating system of its predecessor which runs older Android versions.

The Google Nexus 7 will be powered by the latest chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 825, and will also sport 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. For its display, the tablet will utilize AMOLED technology with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440.

What makes the upcoming tablet a cut above its rivals is its support for Virtual Reality (VR). Google has already made some of its smartphones VR-ready and it is expected to do the same for its future tablets, including the Nexus 7.

Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 2 will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor and will sport a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display or 5.1-inch FHD AMOLED display. It will come with a metal body, 6 GB of RAM, a 16-MP camera, and a fingerprint scanner.

The upcoming Google smartphone will also feature wireless charging, USB type-C ports, a microSD slot, and up to 128 GB of storage.

Google has yet to announce when exactly it will launch the Google Nexus 7 and Google Pixel 2, but both devices are expected to arrive before the end of this year.
