Photos recently taken with the camera on the upcoming Google Nexus 7 tablet have surfaced on the internet this week on Picasa.com.

The EXIF data on the images shows a 1280 x 960 resolution, however, they have most likely been scaled down prior to being uploaded. It also suggests that the photos were taken with Google's upcoming 7-inch tablet.

An ASUS rep recently confirmed the existence of the long-rumored Google Nexus 7 tablet in a report from Android Authority at Computex.

The report confirmed that ASUS and Google have partnered up to manufacture the 7-inch tablet and they plan to officially announce it at the end of this month.

Judging from this information, it appears that the rumors of an unveiling for the device taking place at Google I/O will most likely prove to be true.

The representative did not reveal any information on price or specifications, but did state that the tablet was going to be "awesome." The rumored price for the device is between $150 and $200. This will make the tablet a perfect competitor for the Amazon Kindle Fire that now has more than half of the Android market share.

Rumored specifications for the device include a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.1, JellyBean and a 7-inch display.

Business Insider also reported last week that the Google Nexus 7 tablet is expected to launch with magazine subscription functionality.

This means customers purchasing the device will be offered magazine subscriptions from some major magazine publishers. Business Insider claims to have received this information from a source with knowledge of the company's plans.

The Wall Street Journal also recently reported that Google plans to open its own online tablet store to sell Google-branded tablets directly to customers.
