Google Nexus Prime Release Date: Samsung's New Phone Vs. Motorola's Droid RAZR

Motorola RAZR, reportedly thinnest smartphone on the market, was given its grand debut Tuesday, while the Galaxy Nexus smartphone running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich was unveiled in Hong Kong on the following day.

The two will have to compete with Apple’s newest iPhone 4S, which started selling only last week, and already broke all previous sales records.

Which phone should you get? The Christian Post put the features of both together, for best comparison.

Motorola Droid RAZR

Motorola's newest smartphone is powered by a dual-core 1.2Ghz TI OMAP 4430 processor and has a 1 GB RAM. The 4.3" Super AMOLED, 960 x 540 display is covered with Gorilla Glass to protect it.

The phone has an 1800mAh battery that delivers 12.5 hours of total talk time.

But the operating system that the Razr runs off of is still Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Galaxy Nexus smartphone already runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich). AOL's Engadget reported Wednesday that Motorola RAZR will also be updating to Ice Cream Sandwich by early 2012. So RAZR fans need some patience, and it will pay off.

The smartphone's camera is capable of 1080P video recording. A total of 16 GB of internal storage is available, along with 16 GB of additional memory on a MicroSD card. The phone is just 7.1mm thick, which makes it the thinnest smartphone on the market.

In the U.S., the RAZR will retail for a pre-sale price of $300 on Oct. 27. The smartphone is being offered with a 2-year contract with Verizon Wireless and LTE support.

Google Nexus Prime

Android promises Ice Cream Sandwich will bring rich notifications, customizable home screens, re-sizable widgets, and deep interactivity. The newest device by Google will present some changes in its design such as: new lock screen features; replacing physical buttons on devices with equivalent on-screen icons; redesigned multi-tasking screen.

New home screen folders offer a new way for users to group their apps and shortcuts logically, just by dragging one onto another. From the All Apps launcher, users can now simply drag an app to get information about it or immediately uninstall it, or disable a pre-installed app.

The device is thin at 8.49 and has a 4.29 mm bezel around the edge.

Hyperskin backing on the battery cover makes the back slip resistant.

The device will also include a 5 megapixel camera capable of filming in 1080p HD, which has the ability to use built-in stabilization.
