Google Pixel 2 News: Google NYC, LA Pop-Up Stores to Sell Pixel 2

Google has announced that two pop-up stores will be opening in the United States soon.

According to 9to5Google, the pop-up stores will showcase Made by Google products. Unfortunately, there will only be two locations for the pop-up stores. The first one will be at 110 Fifth Avenue in New York City, New York. The second one will be at 8552 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California.

The stores will officially open on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in their respective time zones. Fans who do not have the time to visit the stores this week need not worry because they will remain open until the end of the year.

Fans can also purchase Google's Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, and Google Home Mini at the pop-up stores, according to The Verge. The devices will go on sale on opening day, while the rest of Google's upcoming products will become available as they are released. Fans who would like to try the Pixel 2 up-close before making a purchase can do so at the stores.

The Pixel 2 comes with a 5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels (1080p). It has a 12.2-megapixel (MP) main camera and an 8 MP front snapper. Memory-wise, it has 4 gigabytes (GB) of random access memory (RAM) and 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, it does not have a card slot for expandable memory. Under the hood, the Pixel 2 boasts a 2,700 mAh battery and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Fans who would like to buy the Pixel 2, though, should do it fast. It is already backordered online, and it remains to be seen whether Google's pop-up stores will have enough supply to keep up with the demand. Given its stellar reviews, it comes as no surprise that the Pixel 2 would be such a highly-coveted smartphone.

Google's pop-up stores will be open from Oct. 19 to Dec. 31.
