Gospel Music Channel (GMC) is not only the top Christian entertainment television network and fastest growing network in cable TV; it is also the leading Christian music internet site, according to statistics released recently.

GMC is currently in 45 million cable/satellite homes and projects 47.1 million homes by the end of 2009, reported FrontGate Media and the network Wednesday.

Monthly unique visitors to GMC’s website, GospelMusicChannel.com, meanwhile, has grown to over 220,000, making the Christian Music site the most visited of its type, according to Compete.com.

“Our entire digital team has worked tremendously hard over the past year to make Gospel Music Channel a leader in the digital space for fans of gospel and Christian music,” commented Philip Manwaring, GMC’s vice president for Digital Media, after GMC won awards and acclaim in a variety of categories by three organizations honoring “The Best of the Web” earlier this year.

“We ... look forward to continuing to serve and delight our audience throughout 2009,” he added.

It has only been less than five years since GMC launched as the first, advertiser-supported cable television network dedicated to the rich history and contemporary sounds of gospel music, its many styles and artists.
