Gospel Reaching for all Mega Languages

Next, World By Radio continues its quest to proclaim the gospel in the world's mega languages. HCJB World Radio aids in this effort. According to HCJB World Radio's Vice President of Operations Tom Narwold they have made good progress in the last 17 years. "We have identified 372, what we call, mega-languages - languages that have over one-million speakers. HCJB World Radio had 23 of those languages assigned and right now we're looking at finishing off the last two, so for us it's a real milestone." Narwold speaks about those two languages. "The last two that we had to get on the air were Kituba. That's a language spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. And, Chechen, a language spoken in Chechnya, Russia. So, we're hoping within the next six months these languages will be on the air." HCJB's plans don't stop at 23 languages. Work continues in at least ten other languages in Sub-Saharan Africa.

And finally, The International Mission Board is faced with an unusual problem in their evangelism. They have too many missionaries wanting to go to the field. Recently IMB allocated additional funding to cover the costs of more members who want to head to the mission field. IMB's Avery Willis says God is at work, demonstrated by the growing number of new churches and new believers in discipleship training around the world. Pray for continued growth and support.
