'Gotham' Season 2 Cast News, Update: 'Orphan Black' Star Joins the DC TV Show for a Series-Regular Role

Robin Lord Taylor's Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin appears to be so happy with Jada Pinket-Smith's Fish Mooney already out of the picture. But the sly, crippled mobster is still bound to face yet another opposing force in his mission to fully take over Gotham.

Aside from a handful of villains coming over for the second season of DC and Fox's hit crime-fighting TV drama series "Gotham," a report from TV Line said the show is set to introduce yet another big baddie which will be played by "The Tudors" and "Orphan Black" star James Frain.

Frain, according to the media outlet, will take on the series-regular role of Theo Galavan. Theo is the brother of Tabitha Galavan, who is known in the DC Comics as the villainess Tigress. The role of the latter has not yet been cast, the site revealed.

Theo is a "sexy, heroic, billionaire industrialist who's new to the city," Deadline reported. Apparently, the titular city is so happy to welcome his kind but his philanthropic works "covers a centuries-old vendetta" which includes destroying Batman's beloved place.

It was found out furthermore that the introduction of the Galavan's in the sophomore season will "eventually lead to the destruction of some old villains and the creations of new ones."

Frain will join other members of the cast including Ben McKenzie, who plays the tough detective Jim Gordon; Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock (Gordon's trusty partner); David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne; and Camren Bicondova as the Selina Kyle, the future Catwoman.

As reported earlier, "Gotham" is slated to return on Fox this Fall.
