One of the most awaited events, the Grammy Awards, is already few days away from happening. The anticipated occasion will take place this Sunday night, Feb. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

In light of the upcoming events, several media sites have sounded off their predictions for the winners of the major category awards particularly for the Album of The Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

For the Album of the Year, the reported nominees are:

  1. Beck – Morning Phase
  2. Beyonce – Beyonce
  3. Ed Sheeran – x
  4. Sam Smith – In the Lonely Hour
  5. Pharrell Willaims – G I R L

For Billboard.com, their choice falls on Beyonce's Beyonce. According to the site: "Beyoncé's self-titled fifth album towered over the entirety of 2014, as the music industry scrambled to figure out how to "pull a Beyoncé" and how a mainstream icon who causes widespread Internet obsession could completely reinvent her sound on the fly."

For the Song of The Year, the reported nominees are:

  1. Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass"
  2. Sia's "Chandelier"
  3. Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off"
  4. Sam Smith's "Stay with Me"
  5. Hozier's "Take Me to Church"

For SPIN.com, they chose Trainor's hit saying: "The popular music industry insists on lauding her as a beacon of body positivity and famous-person physical diversity."

For the Record of The Year, the nominees are:

  1. Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX, "Fancy"
  2. Sia, "Chandelier"
  3. Sam Smith, "Stay With Me"
  4. Taylor Swift, "Shake It Off"
  5. Meghan Trainor, "All About That Bass"

For Billboard, Swift's track "should win" pointing out to the artist's "seamless transition to full-blown pop" and how she "snapped up a killer Max Martin/Shellback production and made the word 'hella' work in the middle of a snotty cheerleader-rap breakdown."

For Best New Artist, the names are:

  1. Iggy Azalea
  2. Bastille
  3. Brandy Clark
  4. HAIM
  5. Sam Smith

According to Sydney Morning Herald's Peter Vincent, "Sam Smith is the Queen's champion here thanks to a year spent tugging heart-strings worldwide."
