Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers Misses Practice Due to Injury

Aaron Rodgers failed to practice but declared that he is prepared for a game.

Rodgers talked about the progress of his injury and the mechanics of the practice he failed to attend.

"It's going all right. The calf is slowly progressing. I wasn't out there today, but we're right where we need to be in getting ready to hopefully get on the field next week," he said. "The rhythm is established; the play style is established. It's just about working on checks and kind of going through the plan. That's why you need to practice."

Two weeks ago, Rodgers got injured on a game against Tampa Bay Buccanners. Despite his condition, he completed 11 out of 13 passes after a game with Detroit Lions.

Although Rodgers did not practice, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy is confident about his player's performance for the upcoming game.

"Aaron? Practice reps? No, I'm not concerned. He's already started the preparation process. There's some things we went through today, self-scout and correction that we want to go [with], so he'll be prepared. I think the biggest thing is for him to rep the things that he feels that he may need another rep on. There won't be a bunch of new ideas or things that he hasn't seen or things he doesn't have the reps with his teammates with. So I'm not really concerned," the coach said.

Rodgers team mates are more worried about his health rather than his preparation for the game on Sunday. Green Bay Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga expressed his concern over Rodgers.

"I think everyone's comfortable with how Aaron's going to prepare. Everyone knows Aaron's going to be ready to play when it comes to Sunday. It's just making sure that he's as healthy as he can be come Sunday, and that's what everyone cares about, that he's healthy and ready to go," Bulaga said.

The Packers are referring to the NFC divisional playoff game on Jan. 11 against a team that will be determined this week.
