'Grey's Anatomy' Casts New Interns

Now on its 14th season, ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" has added six new interns to its medical team. One of them is Jake Borelli who was introduced as Levi in last month's premiere.

Borelli appeared in the two-part premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" on Sept. 28. He plays a nerdy doctor-in-training who fancies Wilson (Camilla Luddington).

"Psych" and "Thundermans" are among the shows Borelli has starred in.

The rest of the interns should be introduced on this Thursday's episode, wherein Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will be out looking for candidates.

Rushi Kota, who has guest starred in "Extant" and "Famous in Love," will be playing Vik from now on.

Jaicy Elliot has been cast as Taryn. This marks the actress' first major acting role.

Alex Blue Davis will play a character named Casey. He has guest starred in "NCIS" and "Two Broke Girls."

Jeanne Mason, once a regular on the ABC series "Of Kings and Prophets," will be playing Sam. She is also known for performing and winning the fifth season of "So You Think You Can Dance."

Sophia Taylor Ali, a recurring actress on "Faking It," will portray an intern named Dahlia.

It is not a surprise that new characters have been added to the show given that a number of actresses exited after season 13. Jerrika Hinton, Tessa Ferrer, and Marika Dominczyk all exited before the current season.

Furthermore, Kim Raver is now back starting this season as well as Italian actress Stefania Spampinato, who will be portraying DeLuca's (Giacomo Gianniotti) sister.

On this Thursday's episode, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) will be thrust into a difficult situation while Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will be dealing with the consequences of her conversation with Nathan (Martin Henderson). Moreover, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) will find herself at an awkward family dinner and Jackson (Jesse Williams) will face a big announcement.

The remaining five interns will be introduced on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. These six characters should appear in multiple episodes throughout the season.
