'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 Spoilers, Plot News: How Will Meredith Survive Without Derek?

The previous episodes of the hit medical drama TV series "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 saw the departure of Derek (Patrick Dempsey) who is now bound for Washington, D.C. after he was being re-offered with a position to work with the Head of State.

At first, it appears that his choice to take on the job was fueled with the disagreement he had with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). However, in last episode "Where Do We Go From Here," Dr. Grey turns out to be agreeable with her partner's new career plans. But fans have been asking, did she really mean it when she decides to let him go? How will she fare with the second most important person in her life now already beyond her reach?

Executive producer and show creator Shonda Rhimes informed Entertainment Weekly (via IBTimes) that the doctor that this situation will make the story even more interesting.

"I love the idea that this could possibly mean that for the first time in her life at the hospital, she has neither Cristina nor Derek, and therefore is essentially alone and how she's going to cope with that. It's going to be very interesting for her," the showrunner said.

Meanwhile, this week's segment titled "The Bed's Too Big Without You" is also said to tackle on April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson's (Jesse Williams) baby.

A full synopsis was provided by The Futon Critic and it reads:

"April stays optimistic as Arizona begins testing on her baby; Dr. Herman plans out a crash course in fetal surgery; and Owen and Callie encourage each other to get back into the dating scene. Meanwhile, Meredith, Maggie and Bailey use the 3D printer to gain a better understanding of their patient's tumor."

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 Episode 11 airs this Thursday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
