The eleventh season of the widely-popular medical drama TV series "Grey's Anatomy" kicks off with its premiere episode entitled "I Must Have Lost it On the Wind" this coming Thursday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

"With Cristina gone, a new doctor, Maggie Pierce, making the rounds, and Derek wanting to move to Washington DC, Meredith struggles to regain a sense of normalcy both at home and in the hospital," the synopsis reads.

"Meanwhile, Callie and Arizona come to a decision about surrogacy, Amelia overhears a big secret, Bailey realizes she will have to fight Alex for Cristina's board seat, and a freak accident causes two teenagers to be caught in a very compromising position," it continued.

As mentioned in the summary, Ellen Pompeo's Meredith will once again encounter a new twist in her life as she is about to deal with another relative in the person of Maggie (Kelly McCreary), a newly-hired cardiothoracic surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, following Jeff Russell's (Dominic Hoffman) exit from the department.

She is revealed to be Ellis Grey's (Sarah Paulson) and Richard Webber's (J. August Richards) secret love child. From the network's released teasers, it seems like Maggie and Meredith's relationship doesn't look so good. Having been disrespected by Maggie's unprofessionalism, Meredith was found confronting the newcomer.

However, as the season progresses, the general surgeon will soon find "the truth about who Maggie is" and this might change her perspective towards her newly-discovered half-sister.

Fans of the show might remember Meredith meeting two half-sisters from previous seasons. First was Molly (Mandy Siegfried) and Lexie (Chyler Leigh), the latter of whom Meredith grows fond of and was treated like a real sister. Unfortunately, Lexie met her untimely death in a plane crash last season 8.
