'Grimm' Season 4 Premiere Date, Plot Spoilers: October 24, 2014 - New Wesen Creatures Face Off Against the Grimms

"Grimm" is an American police procedural fantasy television drama series which first debuted on Oct. 28, 2011 on the NBC channel. The series was renewed by NBC for a fourth season Mar. 19 earlier this year and is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 24.

For season 4, a new deputy will be coming to town and TVLine reports it will be played by "Franklin & Bash" star Toni Trucks. The new deputy will be Deputy Janelle Farris who is looking for Nick and Hank's help to solve a highway-crime scene which seems to be a bit strange.

Trucks, however, won't be making her debut to the show until episode 6 in the upcoming fourth season. Aside from Trucks, "Warehouse 13" actor Erick Avari will be cast as a guest star as a salvage-yard owner. The business run by Avari's character will grab Nick's attention regarding several highway disappearances.

Meanwhile, NBC revealed some details about the new Wesen -- creatures visible to the Grimms -- Nick and Hank will be facing. One such Wesen is Gedachtnis Esser, also known as Octo-man, an evil creature that has the ability to steal identities. As his other name suggests, an Esser is a part-man, part-octopus who steals a victim's memories by attaching his tentacles to someone's head and leaves the victim in a state of dementia.

"A lot of what we do is try to explain real-world problems, like in this case, identity theft. Our best Wesen ideas come when we have an emotional core that explains something in life," series creator Jim Kouf explains.

Another Wesen is the Schinderdiv which is a demonic beast that represents "people who are only out for themselves and do anything to achieve a goal," said executive producer David Greenwalt.

A Heftigaroch on the other hand is a bull-like Wesen that morphs into a fit of rage when provoked. Lastly, the Golem is a 10-foot Wesen made out of clay. This particular Wesent was intended to protect the meek but is dangerous to try and control.
