'GTA 6' Release Date Rumors: Fake Trailer Slammed by Gaming Outlets

While fans of "Grand Theft Auto" are hoping that the sixth installment come along sometime soon, a trailer that claims to be the official preview from Rockstar took fans by surprise but has also been immediately slammed by popular gaming news outlets.

Most fans claim that "GTA 6" will most likely be out in 2017 or 2018, but the speculations were initially slammed when the trailer started making rounds online. However, several gaming outlets and avid fans themselves have dug holes around the teaser, pointing out several factors that prove the clip was but a hoax.

The video seems to depict that the setting will be in Vice City and the game will be out in 2017. While some of the shots appeared to be genuine, popular YouTuber MrBossFTW noted that the trailer had significant low-level English compared to the real trailers released by Rockstar Games itself.

Metro also pointed out that the video spelled "Rocstar," among all other glitches. Getting the spelling all wrong could be the most notable mistake that the videomaker made and numerous fans laughed off the idea that they were fooled by the clip.

The outlet noted that the imagery and some shots were definitely interesting and even seemed to have included New York or Liberty City and another that appears to be a city in Europe. However, the report also iterated that the video could be just another live action footage from the previous games.

VG247 has also aired its side, saying the teaser was "uninspiring" at all and cannot even pass up for an imitation to Rockstar's teasers. The report finally concluded that the logo flashed at the end of the clip was "weak."

With all the speculations and drama revolving around the fake trailer, Rockstar remains mum over the issue and the last confirmed update about the developer is that the team is hard at work on "GTA Online" and there just might be no plans yet about another installment.
