'GTA 6' Rumors: Release Date Scheduled for 2018, New US-Wide Map Under Development?

Unarguably one of the best-selling video games of all time, rumors of a sequel have been following "Grand Theft Auto 5" for years.

After having shipped 54 million copies since its launch in September 2013, "Game Theft Auto V" has a place on the top games lists on Empire magazine and the "Good Game's "Top 100 Games" list, with fans looking forward to another sequel of the action adventure video game.

There have been rumors a new game from Rockstar Games may roll out on either 2018 or 2020. Based on speculations, a new, more comprehensive map is being developed for the sequel.

The game's fans have been clamoring for a US-wide map instead of a smaller city map, and developing something of that magnitude, complete with a storyline and top-notch graphics may take longer than expected.

Other rumors have also emerged pointing out that maps of all the other "GTA" games will be rolled into larger map to create the environment of "GTA 6," however, these rumors have yet to be confirmed, as is another one of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes voicing characters for the yet-to-be-announced sequel.

Rockstar is also reported to be working on a global feel for the next game, bringing in Los Santos, Liberty City, San Andreas, and Vice City for side mission purposes. What the central city for "GTA 6" will be is still up for speculation.

Similar to the popular simulation game, "Sims," characters in "GTA 6" may be able to get into relationships with one another and even get married. Adding the relationship feature could take away the general "bad-assery" feel the "GTA" franchise has been running on since the beginning however.

Fans of the game should also expect a wide collection of vehicles for the sequel, including cars from the 1950s and 1960s. There may also the inclusion of a main female character in "GTA 6," based on reports Rockstar founder, Dan Houser, has already given the go-signal for such a character.
