Gunman Kills 4 Before Shooting Self in Georgia

A man shot six people, killing four of them, including his ex-wife and children, before he turned the gun on himself near Atlanta on Saturday, according to police.

The gunman, whose identity had not been released, shot his ex-wife and children at a house on Willow Tree Circle in the Douglasville subdivision, about 20 miles west of Atlanta, The Associated Press quoted Douglas County Sheriff's Lt. Glenn Daniel as saying.

"I've been in law enforcement out here 20 years, and this is the worst I've ever seen," Daniel added.

The gunman reportedly killed himself at the end of the incident.

The suspect's ex-wife had been living with her boyfriend and five children in that house for about three years, according to neighbors.

A 7-year-old child, two adults and another minor were killed, and two more children sustained life-threatening injuries, according to CNN. The gunman also died.

"I heard a couple quick shots, you know, back to back to back. Went out there and, you know, looked and it was already over," USA Today quoted Brandon Hallman, who was working on a car nearby, as saying. "We just grabbed some towels and kind of went down there to try and help before the paramedics got here."

The shooter's motive remains unknown. Investigators are "still trying to sort this out," Daniel said.

In a separate incident Saturday, at least three people were injured by gunfire at a Macy's department store in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-area mall.

The shooting took place at Monroeville Mall, about 10 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh, according to Reuters.

"Damn was just in monroeville mall and just saw 2 ppl get shot. They are letting guns go in there," former NFL quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who was at the scene, tweeted.

A police source was quoted as saying that the gunfire was likely due to a gang fight, and that there were multiple shooters.
