'Half-Life 3' Rumors May Have Come From 'Childish' Valve Employees, Hints Gabe Newell

Still no indication that 'Half-Life 3' is currently being developed

"Half-Life 3" is such a sought-after game that any little rumor about it immediately draws a lot of attention, even though some of these vague clues may have just been teases and nothing more.

Recently, there was a photo taken inside Valve's offices that drew a lot of attention as it showed a computer that also featured what looked to be a possible logo for the sequel.

It's barely noticeable, but eagle-eyed fans have pounced upon it as some kind of hint that the sequel may still be in development.

Before fans get too excited, however, that little logo may be nothing significant after all.

Speaking recently to some reporters, Valve CEO Gabe Newell offered a possible explanation for why something that looked like a logo for "Half-Life 3" was seen on that computer, Venture Beat reported.

According to Newell, "some of the more childish members of our company have worn Half-Life 3 T-shirts to GDC."

That certainly seems like an indirect hint from Newell that the logo may be nothing important and that it could just be an example of some Valve employees having a little bit of fun.

Now, what's unclear is just how many of the sequel rumors that have come out over the years concerning the game were merely propagated by those "childish" Valve employees, though this revelation does make it seem like fans will have to be more discerning moving forward when it comes to which of these rumors they should pay attention to.

That will likely make the search for the sequel even harder in the years ahead, and who knows, perhaps fewer rumors may receive attention now from fans in the wake of this revelation from Newell.

This revelation may even serve as yet another reason for fans to finally stop searching for "Half-Life 3."
